What will we explore together

Backyards, rooftops and balconies have always served an important role in the social life of Tel Aviv. Planned as a garden city in the 1920’s, Tel Aviv filled up with green pockets, planned to connect between private and public areas. Large balconies became common in the 1930’s, immediately being romantically referred to “smiles” on buildings. Along with the shared rooftops, these were the ultimate spaces for socializing with neighbors. Today, some remains of these “secret islands” are still around, only known to few. During our tour we will enter these historical gems, learn about the architects who planned them and discover the trendy bars, cafes and galleries that make use of them today. We will discover Tel Aviv through its rooftops, have a glimpse on the city from above and get a fresh perspective on the city’s 3rd dimension.
